Kelen 21st - PC's continue east along the salt route after their meeting with Araxis. Weather turned bad for the next 5 days. Mixture of rain, sleet, wind, and general crap.
After a couple of days of not seeing anything, the PC's start to realize that they have seen nothing... at all. No birds, squirrels, deer, people, nothing. It's creepy... and wet.

Kelen 25th - mid afternoon, Albanis first then Xhost hear the sounds of something moving through the woods. It's in front of them, moving south to north... they figure what ever it is will cross the trail up ahead a bit. They stop, wait and listen. The noise of breaking branches turns into the sound of breaking trees as the guys come to the conclusion that whatever it is , it's large, very large and moving quick. As panic and the thoughts of turning and running get voiced they see a large moose... running flatout crash through the bush, cross the trail and disapear... shortly followed by something, humaniod and incredibly massive. At 100' away they can tell this thing stands well over 10'.

The horses get a bit freaked out, but Albanis manages to keep his mount calm... Xhost, not so lucky. The horse squeals in terror and throws Xhost to the ground. The noise of the horse and the human crashing to the ground is enough to peek the interest of the Greater Troll., which stops it's chase of the moose to look for easier meat.
Greater Trolls have been part of my beastiary for a long time... 14' tall, and over 900lbs. The players have run into them before, sometime winning, sometimes loosing.

Now I figured the boys would just turn tail and run. Their horses would out pace the beast easy. Not expecting Xhost to roll a CF on his control of his mount changed things... the fight took 8 rounds and since it's past 1 am, i'm going to sum up.

Round 1) - Troll runs towards Xhost and his horse. Xhost chases his horse, Albanis kicks the spurs and runs.
Round 2) - Troll still moving toward Xhost, Albanis notices (almost loosing control of his mount) that Xhost is not wit him, reigns up. Xhost manages to catch his mount and gets in the saddle.
Round 3) - Albanis empowers his spear and charges the Troll, Xhost gets his mount under control and runs toward Albanis, Troll still chasing. Both riders mangage not to run into each other, Albanis gets the init and attacks, Troll counters, both hit... S3's Albanis manages to keep his seat and not fail the shock roll, Troll is good.
Round 4) - Xhost stops his mad dash realizing that Albanis is taking on the beast. Troll is not sure which way to go, desides that the little thing that hurt him is going to be dinner. Albanis controls his mount and gets stopped.
Round 5) - Troll charges albanis, Albanis gets turned around and charges Troll, Xhost gets turned around, empowers weapon and Charges Troll... Albanis's dog is the smart one and bolts. Albani wins init, followed by the Troll, the Xhost. Abanis swings and misses, Troll counters and hits, giving Albanis a K5 to the head (left eye), sending Albanis crashing to the ground (no damage due to 5 1's roll on the d6's ), Albanis survives the kill roll and get's KO'd. Troll gets TA goes after the horse and misses. Xhost attacks, Troll counters, both hit. s3's all around! Xhost stays in the saddle, troll blows a shock roll and gets stunned. TA for Xhost... stops mount and gets turned around.
Round 6) - Xhost charges, Troll takes ignore, Xhost rolls a MF, does a S2, fails a rider control check while trying to stop his horse.
Round 7) - Xhost fights with his mount, which is stopped, but not wanting to charge, Troll rushes Xhost. Troll hits witha G4, Xhost misses witn cvounter. Troll gets TA, hits for S3, Xhost counters and hits foe S3. Shock rolls passed.
Round 8 - Troll fails Init roll with CF, rolled again to see if he would break and run... goes berserk instead. Xhost gets mount under control and attacks, also tossing 20PP to Agrik as panic starts to set in. Troll counters. Xhost hits with a G4, Troll misses, fails shock and drops... Albanis wakes and wonders "what the hell just happened" Xhost dismounts and hacks the beast head off... then spends the rest of the evening in prayer.

Camp is made right there for the night.
